Redefining Summer Ethnic Wear for Summer Weddings
Last week was my best friend’s wedding and there were a series of events and functions one after the other. It was quite an eventful week, I must say. For all the functions, I had to decide on a suitable outfit, of course, keeping in mind the scorching heat of the summer. Today, I would specifically like to talk about this one outfit that I wore for the ‘Haldi’ function which happened during the second half of the day. Well, why this outfit? Because I am totally in love with this outfit and it is just apt for a summer daytime wedding.
Redefining Summer Ethinic Wear by keeping up with the Summer Hues
So I went shopping and hunting the other day, looking for an outfit that would be ethnic yet comfortable and contemporary. And I came across this canary yellow ankle-length skirt with a broad ‘Zari’ border and this beautiful red jacket which had a perfect interflow of the trending summer colours. Speaking of which, Anita Dongre, who is one of my favorite designers, showcased her summer collection of occasion wear for men and women at the Lakme Fashion Week 2016. Her collection curated a spectrum of colours beginning with white and light pastels to the brighter and richer hues. The hues which caught a lot of attention were the brighter ones like yellows, pinks and reds. Well, the collection was mind-blowing!
Keeping the latest trending hues in mind, I definitely wanted something bright and vivid. I must say, I was lucky enough to come across these garms during my last minute shopping. So, for a dramatic ethnic look, I picked up this canary yellow skirt and decided to pair it up with this red fusion-much jacket, with a plain white silk crop top worn inside the jacket.

As you can see, I kept the jewelry part minimal and simple with a pair of earrings, white Jaipuri style bangles with kundans matching my crop top and a statement ring from Prerto. Last but not the least, I loved the attire because it was dramatic, contemporary and totally had the verve of summer!
Until the next time, au revoir, auf wiedersehen, adios, ta-ta, bye-bye!
